Two Years of Make Way’s Regional Council of Youth with Disabilities: the young people reclaiming their voice and influence in SRHR policy OR

In 2022, Make Way partner Liliane Fonds formed the first ever ‘Regional Council of Youth with Disabilities’ – to be implemented in collaboration with other partner organisations. The initiative which aligns with the Make Way programme’s intersectional approach to SRHR youth-led advocacy, is made up of fifteen (15) youth across Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda and Uganda.

From August 12-14, 2024, MenEngage Africa, in collaboration with Sonke Gender Justice, hosted the SRH Learning and Exchange Symposium. The event served as a vital platform, bringing together over 250 diverse participants, including practitioners, policymakers, community leaders, and young people from across Africa. The symposium focused on advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Gender Equality Across Africa, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange.

We are happy to announce the launch of our #SeeMe campaign under the Make Way programme. Through interviews with thought leaders, the campaign shows how everyone’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) can be realized through an intersectional approach.
