This study examines why some organisations adopt intersectional approaches and others not. It finds that awareness, an ingrained cultural mindset that values diversity and leadership buy-in, have an enabling effect.

The African Disability Protocol (ADP) is adopted in 2018 as an additional Protocol to the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights. It contextualises the UN Convention for Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD) for the African situation.

This research used repeated in-depth interviews and content analysis to understand whether and how physical disability intersects with the construction of masculinities and experience/perpetration of violence.

The Resource Guide and Toolkit has been developed to help both organizations and individual practitioners and experts to address intersectionality in policies and in programmes.

This 2022 report, by the Missing Billion initiative and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), shows that the health inequities faced by people with disabilities are avoidable and propose a pathway to close this major "health gap". 

Persons with disabilities have the right to the highest attainable standard of health as those without disabilities. This report demonstrates that while some progress has been made in recent years, the world is still far from realizing this right.
