Beijing+30 preparations: Achieving gender equality and women empowerment

Two Years of Make Way’s Regional Council of Youth with Disabilities: the young people reclaiming their voice and influence in SRHR policy OR

In 2022, Make Way partner Liliane Fonds formed the first ever ‘Regional Council of Youth with Disabilities’ – to be implemented in collaboration with other partner organisations. The initiative which aligns with the Make Way programme’s intersectional approach to SRHR youth-led advocacy, is made up of fifteen (15) youth across Ethiopia, Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda and Uganda.

The African Disability Protocol: Advancing Disability Rights in Africa

The African Disability Protocol is a groundbreaking framework tailored to the unique challenges faced by persons with disabilities across the continent. Partner organisations in Make Way have been actively advocating for its ratification. This work came to fruition in June 2024, with the African Disability Protocol’s official ratification. The work continues though to ensure more countries ratify, sign onto and implement the African Disability Protocol into laws and policies.
